Pokemon Gameboy: The Complete Pokemon Gaming Experience
Nintendo must have released more than 10 Pokemon Games for Pokemon Gameboy.
However, the storyline in all those games remains the same. A pre-teen hero leaves home
with his parents blessings and travels throughout the world in his quest to become the
worlds best Pokemon trainer.
During the course of the heros journey, he comes across many adventures involving
mysterious creatures called Pokemon. Pokemon Gameboy makes no effort in explaining
the origins of these mystical creatures. All we know is that Pokemon love fighting amongst
themselves and you can carry up to a maximum of six Pokemon in your pocket.
The hero himself never fights in Pokemon Gameboy. Instead, he makes his pet Pokemon
battle it out with other Pokemon. On each journey, he will encounter newer Pokemon. Each
Pokemon has a different power and they use it against each other. The battles can either be
head to head or two on two. It is a bit like the classic game of stone paper scissors. However,
with each battle, the Pokemon learn new moves. In this process, the Pokemon would also
evolve to become newer versions, often assuming a different name.
Pokemon Gameboy cashes on the worldwide popularity of Japanese animation characters.
The punchline, gotta catch em all nicely summarizes the gist of the game. The hero needs
to catch all the Pokemon and win all the Pokemon battles to emerge victorious and fulfill his
dream of becoming the worlds best Pokemon trainer. The versions of Pokemon Gameboy
released till date include Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald. The games are designed in such a way
so as to make it easy to play even for beginners and committed players can play them for
days together. All three versions have great picture and sound quality. The music is catchy
and the towns are attractive. In the Emerald version, the graphics have improved providing an
aged look to the game. However, the fight scenes seem repetitive and with passing of time,
you do feel a sense of dja vu.
Fans of the Pokemon animated cartoon series would certainly love the gaming version of
their favorite cartoon characters. Likewise fans of the gaming series would equally enjoy
the animated cartoon version. The franchise is equally popular amongst adults and children
alike. So join Ash, Pikachu and their other friends as they embark on one thrilling adventure
after another in their quest to ,catch em all and in the process to fight against the toughest
Pokemon trainers to emerge as the worlds best Pokemon trainer.
